The Arlington Institute is a futurist think tank dedicated to facilitating a prosperous global transition.  While we are very strong believers in the power of consciousness, we know that our strength is in creating tools and that is where we place our energy.  Major scientific, technological, social, demographic, and environmental forces are driving an epic global transition, the likes of which our species has never before experienced.  This unprecedented confluence of titanic forces necessarily guarantees rapid, major disruption and change to the status quo which, if not anticipated, will be very painful. 

Society, science, ecology, and commerce are converging at the intersection of danger and opportunity.  The issues that we are now confronting are a direct product of how we now live and think.  If humanity’s preferred future is to be realized, we must essentially become new humans, with an evolved consciousness that allows us to see the world with fresh eyes, values, and priorities.  The transition presents us with an extraordinary opportunity, and indeed responsibility, to co-create a new world.  As transition pioneers, we are hoping to discover the early indicators of the transition and provide leadership toward reaching the new world.

We are currently building an interactive web portal called The World's Biggest Problems.  This site will allow experts and amateurs alike to collaborate on finding solutions to problems such as economic crisis, species extinction, peak oil, climate change, and water scarcity.  We also have plans to build a web portal that collects dreams and intuitions in order to scan them and search for patterns.  The collective conscious is a powerful one.  Together, we can co-create a world that is ideal for humanity and its environment.
